SAXOPHONE!
I play mainly Alto saxophone and I live in Barcelona, Spain.
Besides Spain, I usually perform in Germany, Czech Republic and Italy.
In 1993 I have been one of the funders
of the band Funk Sinatra (the band’s name is my idea).
I played with them in the best clubs of Central Italy until 1995.
At the moment I often play in various venues of the music scene of Barcelona.
Especially in clubs like Marula Café, Jazz Sí Club, La Maceta, Harlem Jazz Club, Paraigua, Superfly , Café Royal, etc.
Since 2009 I also collaborate with two French DJs (TETRO DJ and SAID FUNKYPENAUT DJ). I play with them on a regular basis in different clubs in Prague, Czech Republic: Fashion Club, Palac Akropolis, 2 Patro, Coco Club, Chapeau Rouge, etc.

After playing for years and years playing along with records, I discovered the pleasure of playing in various bands. Among them, “The Pippopotamos”, “Usi & Costumi” (I will never forget our the memorable tours to Germany!), “Open Sextet” and finally “Funk Sinatra” which deserve a separate chapter.
FUNK SINATRA
In 1993 I had the pleasure of funding the Acid Jazz, Soul y Funky band “Funk Sinatra”.
The group quickly became known throughout Central Italy, performing in the best clubs such as “Barfly” (Ancona), “La Voce della Luna” (Ancona) and “Tabacchi Jazz” (Silvi Marina).

Biography
The Funk Sinatra were funded in 1993 by Sebastiano Calcich (Guitar), Emilio Marinelli (Keyboards), Raffaele FIlippetti (Drums), Janek Bartulewicz (Bass), Rocco Vecera (Trumpet), Max Alessandrini (Saxophone), Charlet (Percussion) and Maurizio Miranda (Voice).
After some months Amedeo Griffoni (Percussion) joined the band.
The name "Funk Sinatra" was conceived by Max Alessandrini
The first concerts of the band were happening in Central Italy, Ancona and Jesi areas, expecially in venues like "La Voce Della Luna" (Ancona), "Barfly" (Ancona), "Magatzé" (Ancona), "E Buonanotte Suonatori", (Jesi).
That was a period were Acid Jazz was starting to become quite popular and the Funk Sinatra began to be well know in Central Italy because was the first and unique band who was able to play in its area the sound of new famous Acid Jazz bands like The Brand New Heavies, US3, James Taylor Quartet, Incognito, Jamiroquai, and Ronny Jordan, and also old school funk bands like James Brown, Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley.
The band had always many musician on stage (never less than 10).
In 1995 Max Alessandrini decided to leave the band and SImone Lamaida substituted him on saxophone.
Few months later Massimo Morganti (Trombone) and Silvia Carloni (Voice) joined the group.
Between 1995 and 2000 the Funk Sinatra played more than 150 gigs in the best venues of the Adriatic Coast. They also participated in some famous festivals like Testaccio Village in Rome (playing with Michael Coleman) and Acab in Rome. They also played at Umbria Jazz Festival, Heineken Summer Festival and Pistoia Blues.
In 2007 the band reunited together to play in different clubs and bars in the Adriatic Sea.
In May 2013 Funk Sinatra reunited again in a wonderful concert at Falconara Amarcord Festival, playing some funk in front of an audience of more than 3000 people.
